“I taught 18 students aged 16-20 from The Gambia Senior Secondary School, Banjul the basics of photography in relation to themselves and their environment. The focus of the workshops was how to tell a story through an image. Every student was given a disposable camera to use and we discussed their photographs in the final workshop. I exhibited and published the Gambian students' photographs in a photobook entitled, ‘See What I See’, after raising funds through a successful online Kickstarter campaign and O2 Telefonica Foundation funding. The project won a Creative Conscience Award 2014. The photobook has been exhibited in London, Tokyo, Kyiv and Brighton”, a documentation of The Gambia Media and Design Project, young Gambian students capture their lives and environment through photography, a brief outline of the project is given followed by the photographs taken by the students; with their disposable cameras, they sketch an intimate and honest picture of the things and people they care about or subjects they feel are important and provide commentary, hard cover, 23,5 x 15 cm, 172 pages, with three loose photographs, (London) 2013
