“This full-color zine tells the stories of ten women political prisoners detained in Manila. A local feminist woodcut collective TkTk regularly visits them through social organizations, using drawing and conversation as a way for the women to speak about their families, personal histories, and experiences of struggle, as well as their efforts to fight for the rights of farmers and marginalized communities. Artists from different parts of Asia were then invited to transform these stories into woodcut prints.

Their experiences continue to inspire women in other parts of Asia to seek justice, in whatever ways are possible, against unjust social and political conditions.

TkTk Feminist Printmakers is an art collective composed of Filipino and international artists, working collaboratively on feminist and socially engaged art.

As part of their advocacy, they conduct workshops and initiate conversations that use art as an outlet for expression, reflection and solidarity among women and marginalized groups to highlight local knowledge and narratives.”

The stories of women activist from the Philippines and their fight for justice told through words as well as drawings and woodcuts.
