“'Cities Look Like Teeth' is an artist’s book chronicling a decade of travels across Europe incorporating laser-cut photography and letterpress-printed text responses. From Copenhagen to Milan, from Lyon to Novi Sad, I toured with bands as musician, tour manager, driver, merch seller; the book is thus an interrogation of location, memory and chronology. Each city is represented by a photograph taken during a visit and a poetic text-fragment written during or afterwards. Twenty cities are included in the book, but I visited many more....”
A limited edition artists’ book produced with a blend of printing techniques: the names of 20 visited cities are letterpress-printed along with brief poetic texts while photographs taken in these cities are laser-cut directly onto the paper, which gives them a subtly shimmering, ghostly presence, with a used stamp on the final page.
