Bee Dance/ music vol. 2, Terpsichore was published within the “unfold” format developed by The Green Books / Anja Lutz, Berlin. The book can be read as a book or unfold into a two-sided poster. The verso shows a large digital drawing, the recto contains further written and graphic content by the artist.
“’Terpsichore, Bee Dance / Music Vol. 2’ is a combined artist’s book with audio work, the third volume of the UNFOLD series. On 16 pages this publication unfolds into a large format drawing on the back with accompanying instructions and background information on the front. The flexidisc included contains new soundscapes from recordings made in Melissa, the city of bees, specifically composed for this occasion.
Jorn Ebner has been researching sounds und communication patterns of honey bees since 2018. In 2020, he developed ideas for wordless communication amongst humans for particular philosophical themes, on the basis of the bee’s waggle dances, which the animals use to indicate sources of food and / or new habitats.”
