Published on the occasion of the exhibition ‘Cartografías de lo cotidiano’ at Mad is Mad Gallery in Madrid, 2024, curated by Diego Lara; displayed were a series of frottage works in which the artist mapped the various surfaces and textures of the city, revealing imperfections resulting from years of wear and tear, but also the geometric repetitions embedded in the structure.
These repetitions are continued on the pages of this book in the form of a series of rhythmic linear patterns reproduced from fabric patterns salvaged from the garbage bin of an interior design studio, a card with a brief text on the exhibition and reproduced works is loosely inserted, printed in hot pink on pastel yellow paper, as are some of the pages of the book though the majority is printed black and grey.
The form of the book is furthermore inspired by the quintessential design of the Moleskine notebook, which the artist used to capture to create her texture drawings.
