“Brief documentary universe that was born from footage found in the Mexican government’s official Youtube channels, processed digitally and projected for its capture in 8, 16, 35 and 120 mm, with several manipulations, including the intervention of one súper 8mm roll with “grana cochinilla” (an ancient Mexican tint). The piece pretends to reveal itself as a gesture that provides a physical place, a material extension of historical denial, as well as to offer a critique to the politics of memory during the government of Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto. The microarchive has the form of a container (portafolio) that travels from site to site carrying negatives, silver gelatine prints, digital variations on photographic paper and a catalogue.
