The year 2024 marked the 100th anniversary of George Mallory’s ill-fated trek to the top of Mount Everest, on the occasion of this centenary an expedition set off to retrace some of Mallory’s footsteps, though not all the way towards the peak, artist Mark Power joined this commemorative expedition as a draughtsman and produced sketches and watercolours in the Welsh mountains and in the Himalayas, these works are reproduced in this publication (in full-colour), along with photographs and some reflections by Powers as well as historical texts and images.
