“Years ago, I started learning Korean, for no reason other than the joy of learning a new language and delving into an unfamiliar culture.
Last summer, I went to Seoul to study Korean for a month. After my lessons I explored different neighborhoods and took pictures.
I wandered and saw colors, buildings or angles that caught my eye.
Back in the Netherlands, I decided to create a modest publication from a select few of those images.
All of these things – learning a language, wandering around unfamiliar places, taking pictures, making this book – can be summed up in three words;
curiosity without purpose.”
