In this take on the classic free IKEA brochures, MacKillop presents the pictures she took during the final days of the Tottenham IKEA store, which closed its door in August 2022, MacKillop’s photographs show the blue container-like building without its distinctive yellow logo, the half gutted interior with stray pieces of furniture and home décor, cordoned off corners and dismantled displays, accompanying these pictures are bits of texts taken from public announcements of the Tottenham store as it discusses its upcoming closure; MacKillop’s publication plays with a well-known format and provides a glimpse behind the sleek and affordable coziness of IKEA with these somewhat eerie yet humorous photographs.
