“An investigation into the performative politics of contemporary activism as seen in five events in Scandinavia and beyond”, witnessing a mock demonstration in 2006 prompted the artist to investigate the performative aspects of protest movements, focusing on the 1989 Student Uprising on Tiananmen Square in Beijing and the Arab Spring in the 2010s, from these two events Jacobi derived 9 smaller narratives that the artist performed between 2009 and 2012: this publication contains reflective texts and the scripts of the 9 performances accompanied by many full-page, full-colour photographs of said performances.
