Albrecht/d Zum Berühmtsein Eigentlich Keine Zeit Actually to Busy to Be Famous

Haury, Peter + Norbert Prothmann + ralf siemers (Eds.)

“‘Happening’? Disrupt events that are only formally different to show business (applied arts)! From 1971, Albrecht/d contemptuously used the label ‘Flooxoos’ for the tradition of anti-art which adhered to established rituals and which he had initially propagated.
Real social change through artistic action was his mission in life. However, this radicalism did not only make him friends in the art referral system. He fell out with Harald Szeemann, who had considered him for documenta 5, and although he had been an important International protagonist in the 1970s — represented in exhibitions with Vostell, Beuys, Haacke and others — at the turn of the millennium he became increasingly isolated from the art establishment.

And yet, many of his statements are still highly topical. His work is evidence of an astounding sense of humour, profound earnestness and a fascinating diversity of approaches towards rethinking artistic action at all levels.”

An extensive work on Albrecht/d, the size and design of which look very different from his own publishing ethos, with more than 800 illustrations and texts by Uwe M. Schneede, Ina Conzen, Anne Thurmann-Jajes, Jürgen Elsässer, Stéphane Le Mercier, Georg Mühleck, Komissar Hjuler, Peter Haury, Bernd Löbach-Hinweiser, Mark Steffen-Bremer, Norbert Prothmann, and ralf siemers.
