“This book consists of two parts. The first contains texts written between 1978 and 2009, which explain some of my works and standpoints regarding art, laziness, power, etc. Most texts have already been published; some have been republished in different catalogues and journals. ‘Praise to Laziness’ (1993) has been translated into nine languages and is frequently exhibited in galleries.
Three text lectures ‘Cheek to Cheek’, ‘Entry into (Europe)’, and ‘Lecture on Tobacco Side Effects’, which I have delivered on several occasions, are published here for the first time.
The second part of the book contains collages and texts from my notebooks written from 1972 onwards: poems, poetic notes, project descriptions, curses, quotes or just information. I include them here to show that I have used and abused language and grammar. They are stupid, insolent, illiterate, packed with lack of logic, which was exactly my intent. That is no coincidence.”
