“The videowork Mar del Plata Revisited, 2007, by Anna Korteweg was the starting point for a dialogue with Sergio Basbaum that took place on the Internet from March to May 2008. In Spring 2007, Basbaum and Korteweg met at the Dutch Art Institute, where they had previously discussed the unfinished work. The video is about the remembered image of a city and about the dissolution of this image when it is superimposed with images of the present.”
An ArtEZ/DAI publication featuring a reflective conversation between Korteweg and Sergio Basbaum, illustrated with b/w photographs of Mar del Plata by Korteweg, followed by a timestamped series of b/w video stills showing painted cityscapes accompanied by a first-person narration, original running time 7’11”.
